Our country will also host the event, which is the most important for the development of the sector - the Sports Forum, said in the morning TV block Joanna Dochevska, chairwoman of the Bulgarian sports development association.
Bulgaria has the unique chance to engage actively in the development of the European policies in the field of sport and healthy lifestyle. Separate events are dedicated to the theme of the program of our presidency of the European Council. Our country will also host the event, which is the most important for the development of the sector - the Sports Forum, said in the morning TV block Joanna Dochevska, chairwoman of the Bulgarian sports development association.

Joanna Dochevska – Bulgarian sports development association: "It happens once a year and it brings together all policy makers in the sphere of sport at the European level. It is the way for this year's policy, which takes place in the first half of the year, and is then formalized with a European Week of Sports, which is in the second part of the year. Bulgaria will have the truly unique chance to bring together people who are responsible for sports policies at European level”.

Brussels supports the development of grassroots sport through the “Erasmus” program.
Joanna Dochevska – Bulgarian sports development association: "It aims not so much at the professional sport, with which we are all so proud to whom all of us are glad, but rather a sport for all, sport in leisure time, sport for every citizen in the European Union, and this year's main priority of the European Commission is building a healthy lifestyle."
Sport is one of the most successful ambassadors of European values, added Joanna Dochevska.

Joanna Dochevska – Bulgarian sports development association: "Tolerance, solidarity, responsibility, discipline and transparency. Each of these values can be easily learned through sport and applied in any of the aspects of our lives. That is what we will be trying to promote during these six months that European values are inextricably linked to sport, and as a result we will come to the conclusion of the Council on the topic."

Europe is struggling with the harmful effects of sports scandals, such as doping, unregulated match fixing and corrupt practices as a whole, said Dochevska. There is already a Declaration on Good Governance for Sport signed by 32 sports organizations during the Maltese Presidency.
