TRAINING OF ARTISTIC SWIMMING COACHES TOOK PLACE IN CROATIA

In the period 13-15 September 2021, in the city of Rijeka, Croatia, an international training under the "AQUA PRIMORJE" project was held, co-financed by the Erasmus+ program.
The project aims to contribute to the non-formal training of coaches in artistic swimming, with the aim to introduce them to new methods of training, healthy eating, approach and choreography in their work with young people with an emphasis on minimizing the risk of injuries and more successful and long-term sports career of artistic swimming athletes.

This is the third event of the project and the training contained a strong theoretical and practical part and focused mainly on the various elements of choreography in artistic swimming. The trainers who shared their knowledge with the participating swimmers from Bulgaria, Serbia and Croatia were Valeria Patrashina, artistic swimming coach in Russia and Croatia and the big name of the British artistic swimming, Jennifer Gray – member of the Britain's first synchronized swimming team and after that a successful coach.

The swimming experts from Bulgaria who took an active part in the training were: Asya Stoycheva, Yulia Chuburova, Diana Tavanarska, Galina Georgieva, Margaret Papaspiru, Hristiana Nikolova, Hristina Cherkezova and Irina Shekerova. The project partner from Bulgaria is the Bulgarian sports development association and as its organizer was Konstantin Zankov, a member of the Board of the organization.
