ADAPTED SPORTS EVENT #BEINCLUSIVE WAS HELD IN SOFIA

On September 24, 2021, a #BeInclusive Shared Experience event in the field of adapted sports was held at the National Sports Academy - Gurguliat building, in which various practices were presented, including: Adapted basketball in NSA, Parakids Sports Practices, FAFA -Balkans and Black Sea region, sports club "Wonders" and the social enterprise "Little house", wheelchair basketball or how sport gives a second chance to return to the game of life, sports practices in adapted martial arts and those for adults, adapted water sports and adapted physical activity for breast cancer patients, the challenge of Special Olympics "FitFive", Hippotherapy, as well as initiatives supported by the Erasmus+ program #Train4Inclusive, #Let's Include, #Play'In Together - Playdagodgy, GoSport, EWA, Active in Sport again.
In the afternoon a sports event Let's Include was held, which included athletes with different abilities who had the chance to enjoy an active sports holiday, including basketball, curling and pickleball, which entered our country through the initiative Pick4All, in which the Bulgarian sports development association is a partner. The event was organized by the Bulgarian sports development association, with the support of the Adapted Physical Activity Sector at the NSA "Vasil Levski". The "Sports close to you" platform was also presented, which allows free registration of sports clubs. The platform is planned to mark sports clubs that work with people with disabilities. The #BeInclusive Shared Experience event was held as part of the European Week of Sport 2021 and brought together sports professionals active in the field of adapted sports, who exchanged experiences and discussed good practices for inclusion through sport. European Week of Sport #BeActive is organized for the seventh consecutive year by the Ministry of Youth and Sports. Between 23 and 30 September, everyone will have the opportunity to become part of the largest sports festival for amateurs in Europe. Sports Village and Sports Night #BeActive Night will await the friends of sports on September 25 (Saturday), between 3 and 9 pm in the space in front of the National Palace of Culture. In the sports village over 30 federations and sports clubs will present their activities through demonstrations and information materials. The event will continue with #BeActive Night with a program on stage with the participation of the ambassadors of the European Week of Sport. In 2021, the motto of the European Week of Sport is "It's time to be active again, nothing can stop you", and the initiatives will be held in Sofia, Montana, Vidin and Vratsa. It aims to support the personal development of young people and to support their sports needs. #BeActive is part of the European Commission's initiative to promote sport and physical activity for EU citizens. The national coordinator for Bulgaria is the MYS, co-financed under the Erasmus + program of the European Union.

Ambassadors of the European Week of Sports this year again are the successful Bulgarian athletes and the talented young competitors. These are the Olympic champion in karate Ivet Goranova, the Olympic champions from the National Rhythmic Gymnastics Ensemble Simona Dyankova, Laura Traats, Madlen Radukanova, Erika Zafirova, Stefani Kiryakova, the European Vice Champion in Rhythmic Gymnastics Boryana Kalein, the judo athlete Ivaylo Ivanov and the silver medalist of the World Table Tennis Championship for people with disabilities from 2018 Denislav Kodzhabashev.

The European Week of Sports is realized in partnership with: Sofia Municipality, Sofia - European Capital of Sports, Benefit Systems Company, the Bulgarian Red Cross, National Sports Academy "Vasil Levski", National Center for Public Health and Analysis at the Ministry of Healthcare, Bulgarian sports development association, "Metropoliten" EAD, FitSpo, Velingrad Mineral Water, Dr. Witt, Off Line, Board Shop.
