#TRAIN4INCLUSIVE SWIMMING COMPETITION WAS HELD IN SOFIA

On September 24, 2022, in the Silver City swimming pool in Sofia, an adapted swimming event #Train4Inclusive was held, organized within the European Week of Sports by the Bulgarian sports development association, in which athletes with intellectual disabilities took part. #Train4Inclusive is an initiative, co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union, which is implemented by an international consortium including representatives of Bulgaria, Croatia, Italy, Slovenia and Spain and aims to develop a methodology and tools that sports coaches and managers of sports activities for people with disabilities can use to monitor the progress of their physical, cognitive and social skills.
The swimming event included adapted swimming, as well as water entertainment for the participants who train in the sports clubs SC "Adapted sports" and SC "BG and sport for all", as well as the residents of the Home for adults with mental disabilities in the town of Banya, Karlovo – Sonic Start. The activities were held jointly with the Adapted Physical Activity and Sports sector at the NSA “Vasil Levski”.

European Week of Sport #BeActive is organized for the eight consecutive year by the Ministry of Youth and Sports. Between 23 and 30 September, everyone will have the opportunity to become part of the largest sports festival for amateurs in Europe. The week aims to support the personal development of young people and to support their sport needs. #BeActive is part of the European Commission's initiative to promote sport and physical activity for EU citizens. The national coordinator for Bulgaria is the MYS, co-funded by the Erasmus + programme of the European Union.
