BSDA WITH AN AWARD FROM THE HRDC FOR CELEBRATING EUROPE DAY 2022

Within the framework of a contest for the best presentation in a national initiative to celebrate May 9 – Europe Day and within the framework of the "European Year of Youth" 2022, organized within the framework of accompanying activities eTwinning for Bulgaria, Europas – Bulgaria, Euroguidance – Bulgaria, Eurodesk – Bulgaria and National VET team – Bulgaria in the period 05.05.2022 – 05.17.2022. 44 organizations from all over the country took part in the competition.
Bulgarian sports development association was ranked third in the category of events involving participants from 3 to 7 years old, with the commemoration of 15 years of Bulgaria's membership in the European Union, held on May 9 in the capital’s Zaimov Park. The event, organized earlier this year, was attended by children from the 195 "Mormarevi Brothers" kindergarten. The host of the event was Nadezhda Panayotova, the Bulgarian voice of one of the favourite Disney cartoon characters – Elsa from Frozen.
The Europe day was organized by the Bulgarian sports development association (BSDA), the Sunday School at the Church of the Nativity, the Sunday School at the Church of St. Martyr Paraskeva, Association of Bulgarians with Asthma, Allergy and COPD, with the permission of Sofia Municipality. Darko Team Athletics School contributed to the sports smiles, which besides with the sports specialists, joined in with an attractive mascot that delighted the children – the Darko wasp. The excellent organization was taken care of by volunteers, including young people from Sofia schools and young sports specialists from the National Sports Academy “Vasil Levski”.
In the late hours of May 9, a European flashmob was held, which was attended by athletes with intellectual disabilities and representatives of Adapted Basketball at the NSA "Vasil Levski", who dribbled to the sounds of the EU anthem, sending the message that within the Union all we are United in diversity, as is the motto of the European Union. The two events focused on the unifying values of the EU – freedom, peace, equality, family, responsibility, justice, tolerance and solidarity.
