BSDA TOOK PART IN SPORT INFO DAY IN BRUSSELS

On January 30, 2023, in the building of the European Commission in Brussels, the annual edition of the Sport Info Day was held, during which detailed information was provided about the opportunities offered by the sports sector of the Erasmus+ programme to promote sports and physical activity at local, regional and national level. The event brought together over 500 sports experts and was opened by Maria Gabriel – European Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth.
The Sports Infoday was organized by the European Commission and the European Education and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA) and aimed to inform participants about the political context, future program and funding opportunities in 2023. Participants also had the opportunity to make new contacts and make connection with potential partners. The event was held in Brussels, but was also broadcasted online. Joanna Dochevska, chairperson of Bulgarian sports development association, which currently coordinates 3 initiatives within the Erasmus+ programme took part in the event:
• Sport, Motivation, Inclusion, Leadership, Engagement – #SMILE project aims to analyse the link between sport and inclusion in an innovative and different way – by ensuring international participation in sport activities of persons with intellectual disabilities.

• #SWIM! – Swim Without Fear project aims to use the link between sport and overcoming psychological problems in an innovative and different way – by developing a handbook of good practices that will be of benefit to both parents and organizations in the field of swimming. The initiative is going to be implemented in Bulgaria and Croatia as countries rich in water areas.

• #SMS – Strong Mind for Success project aims to build capacity in sport organizations nowadays in the field of mental care awareness and care towards youth athletes. The initiative will deliver innovative education on how mental health can contribute for the successful development of young football players in Bulgaria, Italy and Slovenia.
