29.09.2019
"Back2Track" is a project, which the Bulgarian Sports Development Association is coordinating and it’s aiming at analyzing the differences and similarities that sport clubs have in the approach to professional and grassroots sport and in innovative approach of including kids with disadvantage background in sport and physical activity. The project is aiming to find the way of bringing practical skills and knowledge in the participating organizations on how to manage a grassroots sport program together with the elite sport program.

On September 29, 2019, a children's athletics competition was held at the National Sports Academy "Vasil Levski", in which 100 children from Sofia participated, and the main organizer of the event was the KLASA athletics club, which is a partner in the Back2Track project - co-funded under the Erasmus+ Program. In May 2019 Bulgaria hosted a children's track and field competition with over 150 children from Croatia and Belgium. During the European Week of Sport 2019, similar sports holidays were held in both partner countries for children living in Rijeka and Brussels, where participants had the opportunity to be active.

“European Week of Sport #BeActive is part of a Europe-wide policy to promote a healthy lifestyle, which takes place during the last week of September every year. The purpose of the campaign is to promote sport and physical activity across Europe, to be physically active in our spare time, at home and even at work. This European movement began in 2015 and has already inspired millions of people in all countries in Europe. The campaign is titled Be Active #BeActive, aiming to encourage physical activity throughout the Week of Sport and throughout the year. In 2018, 50,000 events took place, involving 13 million people in Europe, the Western Balkan countries and the Eastern Partnership. We hope the 2019 edition, which ends today, will show even better results”, added Joanna Dochevska, Chairwoman of the Bulgarian Sports Development Association.

The Back2Track project is co-funded under the Erasmus+ Program of the European Union.
