An international congress “Europe is Moving” was held on Wednesday, 15 December at the headquarters of the Universidad Pontificia de Comillas in Madrid.

The Congress summarized the activities and studies carried out under the "Europe is Moving: Sport inclusion through media" project, co-funded under the Erasmus+ program. Its aim is to encourage the media to participate more actively and effectively in promoting social inclusion and equal opportunities through sport. The partner organizations that implemented the project are Bulgaria (Bulgarian sports development association), Spain (España se Mueve) and Slovenia (Radio Capodistria).

The first part of the congress presented and analyzed the results of the surveys conducted in the three countries over the past two years and the level of media coverage of activities, promoting social inclusion and equal opportunities through sport, was determined.

The second part was held in the form of a discussion forum on the topic of the project, in which experts, representatives of the media and the non-governmental sector exchanged experiences, defined the challenges and proposed solutions to overcome them. The first panel was dedicated to the media, and the second to the entities launching promotional initiatives in the above-mentioned area.

Participants in the congress were representatives of the Supreme Sports Council of the Madrid Region and the embassies of Bulgaria and Slovenia and the event was broadcast live on the Internet.

Konstantin Zankov, a board member of BSDA, was a lecturer during both parts of the congress. As a final part of the project, a memorandum for future cooperation between the partner organizations is to be signed.
