On November 8, 2024, "Vasil Levski" National Sports Academy and Bulgarian sports development association (BSDA) made another significant step towards consolidating their long-standing partnership for the benefit of Bulgarian sport by signing an agreement for joint activities. This document reinforces the successes already achieved and outlines the way for further expansion of the cooperation. The signatures to the agreement were affixed by the Rector of the NSA, Prof. Krasimir Petkov and the chairperson of BSDA, Joanna Dochevska. The meeting was attended by Assoc. Prof. Stefka Dzhobova and Ivaylo Zdravkov – representatives of both institutions, who discussed the prospects for new joint initiatives.
"It is wonderful that we share common values," said Prof. Petkov. "The partnership between the National Sports Academy and Bulgarian sports development association has strong roots. The results are visible and important both for the development of higher education and for the creation and establishment of new useful practices and policies in the work of professionals who care about Bulgarian sport and its future."
Joanna Dochevska said that the partnership between NSA and BSDA is inspired by the common aspiration for the development of Bulgarian sport and the vision of both organizations to strive for progress, innovation and new approaches. Over the last 15 years, many sports professionals – teachers and students of the Sports Academy, have benefited from training opportunities, additional qualifications and international exchanges, realized thanks to the efforts of BSDA.
The two organizations share a common commitment to expand these initiatives, in order to provide even more valuable and affordable development programs. Focused on investing in human capital, NSA and BSDA are working to create well-coordinated and targeted opportunities to support Bulgarian sport.
