HER SPORT

Between November and December 2025, five sports events were held in Sofia, bringing together more than 50 girls aged 13 to 17. The initiative gave participants the opportunity to try out different sports through training sessions provided by partner sports clubs in basketball, volleyball, and football.

On November 19, 2025, in Sofia, Bulgarian sports development association (BSDA) held a training course during which coaches and sports specialists were introduced to the HER SPORT Handbook and had the opportunity to exchange ideas, good practices and tools for promoting inclusion and accessibility in sports for girls aged 13 – 17.

From May 28–31, 2025, an international training under the HER SPORT project took place in the city of Volos, Greece, bringing together coaches, sports educators, and experts from Bulgaria, Greece, Serbia, and Spain. The main focus of the training was the increasing the capacity of sports professionals to promote inclusion and accessibility in sports for girls aged 13 to 17.

From February 13-16, 2025, an international partnership meeting was held in Barcelona, Spain, bringing together partners from Bulgaria, Greece, Serbia, and Spain. The meeting aimed to assess progress, exchange ideas, share best practices, and discuss tools to promote inclusion and accessibility in sports for girls aged 13-17.

The HER SPORT project aims to promote social inclusion, accessibility, and equal opportunities in sports for girls aged 13-17, especially those in remote or rural areas. The primary goal is to improve the quality of life for these girls by promoting equal access to sports as a tool for social inclusion. The project specifically targets 200 girls who are at risk of not participating in sports and provides training for 32 sports coaches and club directors on key topics related to inclusion and equality in sports.
