Hike Together project is focused on encouraging people to practice hiking and walking in nature, as they are a basic to many sporting activities, well-being and fitness. This initiative contributes to raising awareness of the importance of health benefits of physical activity through walking in nature – as a natural exercise through increased participation in hiking and trekking. The partner countries are Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia and Italy.

In the period 13–16 of December 2021, in Sofia, Bulgaria was held the final partners meeting of Sport Diplomacy Academy that gathered the organizations, implementing since 2019 the pilot initiative that is aiming to empower sport leaders from Bulgaria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia and Italy and it delivered by Bulgarian Sports Development Association, Bosnian Representative Association for Valuable Opportunities (BRAVO), Rijeka’s Sports Association and L'Orma SSD. An online event was also held during the final meeting, bringing together "diplomats in sport suits" for a moment of evaluation and reflection on the past three years of joint training.

In the period 13–15 December 2021, in Belgrade, Serbia, an international meeting under the HEPA (Health Enhancing Physical Activity) project was held. The overall objective of this project is to encourage participation in recreational physical activity for seniors (persons age 65+) by developing new recreational sport programmes suited for 3 types of most common health conditions – back pain, cardiovascular diseases and osteoporosis. The meeting gathered representatives of 6 partner organizations from five European countries – Bulgaria, Croatia, Portugal, Slovenia and Serbia. On behalf of Bulgarian sports development association representatives were the sports specialists Ivelina Kirilova, PhD and Mariana Borukova, PhD.

The crisis related to the coronavirus epidemic is having a negative impact on young people in Europe. The fight against the epidemic and the restrictions introduced weakened the mental condition of youth. Many of them feel that it intends to take from them their most precious time in their life – youth. As a result, young people experience many mental problems without institutional and social support. These problems have direct impact on their education and professional development. Moreover, at present we are unable to predict all the effects of the current state in the future. It is certain, however, that it will be a negative experience for an entire generation that needs support and renewed energy to overcome difficulties. The group that also experiences many problems in the above context are youth workers, who face problems with their mental state, but also with the lack of appropriate educational tools and skills.

In the period 07.12.–11.12.2021. on the Reunion island, France, the final meeting of the "MiSport – integration of migrants through sport" project was held, during which the results of the project activities were discussed. The partners also met with local stakeholders to learn about the results achieved and visited a sports school that has very good experience in working with migrants.

Pickleball is a new, innovative sport that gives everyone a chance, regardless of age, gender, religion, ethnicity or physical activity. It is a combination of several sports – tennis, badminton and table tennis, making it an ideal tool for integration and fun.

In the period 08–11 December 2021 in Ljubljana, Slovenia the second international meeting under the SONKEI project was held. The meeting was attended by 8 partner organizations form 8 European countries – Bulgaria, Bosnia and Hercegovina, Italy, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia, Turkey and Croatia. During the meeting the activities of the project so far were discussed, the partners presented good practices and tools for dealing with racism and violence in sports and worked on creating the practical educational tools for children and youth to raise awareness of violence in sport. Diyan Atanasov, Emiliya Tsanova and Syuleiman Syuleiman took part in the meeting on behalf of the Bulgarian sports development association.

On the 10th of the December, in Milan, 20 organizations gathered for the first edition of an event dedicated to sharing, design and creativity. Partners from Italy, Bulgaria, Croatia, Poland, Spain, Sweden, Belgium, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Austria, Lithuania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Turkey, Romania all participated in the meeting. The event took place in the PlayMore sport center with all the required COVID-19 measures. A full day activity, the partners dedicated their time in order to work on the designing of the new Cooperation Partnerships in the field of SPORT. One of the goals of this December gathering was to create a draft of new projects and to strengthen the, or form new, network. Presentation of organizations were made and everyone got to know each other in a very friendly, cozy and, of course, Christmassy environment.

In the period 07 – 10 of December 2021, in Milan, Italy was held framework approval meeting of project "BOOST-Boosting Outstanding Omnicompetent Successful Talents". BOOST is a 24-month strategic partnership, co-funded by the Erasmus+ program of the European Union, which aims to create new learning and personal development opportunities for young people in Europe by providing interactive educational formats and methods based on the development of transversal skills. The meeting was attended by representatives of partner countries from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Italy and Croatia and Framework approval meeting was following the desk and field research regarding transversal skills development in young people and aims to approve the framework of both BOOST e-learning and handbook by the consortium. During the meeting, one representative from each partner organization and one youth worker has gathered together and has discussed in details the structure and content to be included in both outputs, analyzing the theoretical and practical content.

In the period 02.12. – 04.12.2021. in the city of Karasu, Turkey, a final meeting under the Let’s swim beyond the handicaps project was held. Each partner country presented the activities carried out within the project at local level. The meeting was also attended by children with physical disabilities from Turkey, who took part in the sessions on adapted swimming, and each of them shared their impressions and emotions.

In the period 01–04 December 2021, in Rijeka, Croatia, a midterm meeting under the #Train4Inclusive project was held, which brought together partners from Bulgaria, Croatia, Italy, Slovenia and Spain. #Train4Inclusive project aims to develop methodology and tools, which supporters and supervisors of sport activities for people with disabilities will be able to use in order to monitor the progress of their physical, cognitive and social abilities. Within the project a handbook for sports coaches was developed, and the international meeting was attended by Bulgarian experts in the field of adaptive sports Assoc. Prof. Stefka Djobova and Assoc. Prof. Velichka Alexandrova.

A meeting of the European Commission and the responsible for sport policies at European level took place on 2 December 2021 to discuss the next steps in the new Erasmus+ activities aimed at the mobility of sports staff. The regulation establishing Erasmus+ programme 2021-2027 provides a framework for setting up a Key Action 1 mobility action in the field of sport.

Bulgarian sports development association held a National Conference under the IAM (Promoting Integrity Against Match-fixing through education among young athletes) project. The main idea of the conference was to show how sport can contribute to the fight against illegal betting (black lotto), in order to maintain transparency, fair play and respect at the earliest level of sporting activity. The challenges generated by the manipulation of sporting events require strong cooperation at European and international level in order to protect the future of sport, as well as its ethics and integrity.

Bulgarian sports development association conducted a training course under the GoSport project, that included topics such as "organizational governance and corporate social responsibility in sport", "European policies in the field of sport", "promotion of the good governance and applying its principles in sport". The event was attended by 10 representatives of sports clubs, NGOs, federations and associations, each of whom received a free copy of a handbook designed for professionals working in large and small sports organizations, such as corporate social responsibility managers, administrative and technical staff or coaches /Awareness raising & training toolkit for non-profit / community (multi) sports clubs and sports academies/.

On 30.11.2021 a workshop with youth workers under the Structured Learning for Awareness in Media – SLAM project was held, which aims at enhancing young people’s awareness and critical thinking on the role of Mass Media as a challenge and precondition for more inclusive societies towards migrants and refugees. In the period 26-29 of November 2021 in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina was held a #SPORTolerance training of sport experts and the educational mobility of sport coaches has contributed actively for the personal and professional development of involved sport experts through educational activities and format for exchange of ideas and good practices. This meeting ensured both acquirement of practical skills and knowledge of the involved coaches and an unique experience to cooperate on international level in order to solve common challenge. The event was attended by representatives of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Belgium, Bulgaria and Cyprus that will create a local sport practice in between the international mobilities that will allow participating sport coaches to test the learning activities and to adapt them to the their reality.

Bulgarian sports development association held a dissemination event including sports games and physical activity, part of the Education through sport methodology, within the ETS for youth equality (EYE) project. The event was attended by over 40 coaches, volunteers, teachers and students from the Adapted Physical Activity and Sport Sector at the Faculty of Public Health, Health Care and Tourism at the National Sports Academy "Vasil Levski", representatives of sports clubs, NGOs, federations and associations. The athletes from the adapted basketball team of the National Sports Academy "Vasil Levski" also took part in the event, by conducting and demonstrating a general preparatory training and a basketball match.

The lecture of Diego Capuzzi & Bice Saccò Technician and Athlete of ASD No Limits, included multiple practical aspects of working with persons with disabilities. No Limits is an organization affiliated with Special Olympics, who have actively participated for some time in competitions, tournaments and matches organized by the Federation and who in recent years have achieved important sporting results led by their motto: Young people with sport running through their veins. The main message of Diego Capuzzi & Bice Saccò to the diplomats in sport suits was: “Use sport as a tool for growth!” The online module of #SportDiplomacyAcademy is devoted on working with media and sport for development, originally planned to be implemented in Milan, Italy.

In the period 11-14 of November 2021 in Sakarya, Turkey was held #SafeSPORTevent midterm meeting that gathered the partners from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Greece and Turkey to evaluate the project progress so far and to plan together the future project actions. During the mobility, the consortium had as well fruitful meetings with local stakeholders from Sport Department of Sakarya Metropolitan Municipality, Provincial Directorate of Youth and Sport and Sport Department of Sakarya Applied Sciences University. At the meetings has been discussed ideas and good practices in the field of safety and security in sport and has been exchanged views on the potential development of the mutual cooperation on the topic in the future.

On 12th of November 2021 a lecture of the online module of Sport Diplomacy Academy was delivered and it was focused on Working with media in Sport. The lecture of the sport journalist Ivan Boyanov included multiple practical tips&tricks on how to be prepared for different kind of media participation, how to behave during a interview, what to consider when transmitting your message to the audience with main advice by the speaker to the diplomats in sport suits to “have their Strategy, Simplicity, Personality when working with media in Sport". Ivan Boyanov is a sports journalist with more than a decade of experience in the field of broadcast media industry. He has covered many major international events such as Champions League matches, including three finals and conducted interviews with some of the biggest sport stars like Arsen Wenger, Jose Mourihno, Hristo Stoichkov, Lothar Mattheus, etc. Since 2018 Boyanov is also part of the teams of mentors of the IOC Young Reporters Programme." The online module of #SportDiplomacyAcademy is devoted on working with media and sport for development, originally planned to be implemented in Milan, Italy.

A training course under the Enhancing Health and Physical Activity Rates through Pentathlon (EHPARP) project was held in Sofia, Bulgaria. It was attended by coaches from all disciplines that compose the modern pentathlon – fencing, shooting, swimming, running (athletics) and equestrian sports. EHPARP project aims at employing Pentathlon as a tool of promoting health-enhancing physical activity among the European youth and adult populations as well as providing dual career opportunities to Athletes in the individual disciplines forming part of Pentathlon practice who will be empowered as Coaches/Trainers in their disciplines and in comprehensive programmes of Pentathlon.
