BSDA TOOK PART IN A ERASMUS+ LEARNING MOBILITY FOR SPORT STAFF STAKEHOLDERS MEETING

A meeting of the European Commission and the responsible for sport policies at European level took place on 2 December 2021 to discuss the next steps in the new Erasmus+ activities aimed at the mobility of sports staff. The regulation establishing Erasmus+ programme 2021-2027 provides a framework for setting up a Key Action 1 mobility action in the field of sport.
The legal base states that the consistency and complementarity with the relevant European Union Work Plan for Sport should be ensured. It also states that the programme should support the learning mobility of sport staff, primarily in grassroots sport, taking into account the important role that the sports play in promoting physical activity and a healthy lifestyle, interpersonal relations, social inclusion and equality. Learning mobility may be accompanied by virtual learning and measures such as language support, preparatory visits and training. The programme should contribute to promoting common European values through sport, good governance and integrity in sport, sustainable development, and education, training and skills in and through sport.
The new action is planned to be rolled out in 2023 and thus preparation will take place in 2022. It will be managed in a decentralised manner by the National Agencies, as for the other KA1 actions of Erasmus+. The Erasmus+ programme’s horizontal priorities are inclusion and diversity, digital transformation, environment and climate change, participation in democratic life, common values and civic engagement.
The meeting was attended by Floor van Houdt and Marisa Fernandez Esteban (head and deputy head of Unit for Sport, DG Education, Youth, Sport and Culture, European Commission) as well as representatives of the sports movement from all over Europe, including Joanna Dochevska, as a representative of the Bulgarian sports development association.
The European Commission has published a call for proposals for 2022 under the Erasmus + program, which has an increased budget of nearly 3.9 billion euros for the next year. Erasmus + will once again be one of the main tools to support projects and activities in the fields of education, training, youth and sport. The total budget set aside for this call for proposals is estimated at EUR 2 157.1 million and is divided into the following areas:
Education and training: EUR 1,905.4 million
Youth: EUR 209.1 million
Jean Monnet: EUR 10.8 million
Sports: EUR 31.8 million
