“Re(IN)novating Marketing Strategy Across Semi-professional Female Teams” (RINMSASFT) aims at strengthening competences of managers of semi-professional female sport teams through an up-skill process related to marketing, communication and visibility strategies.
The project pursues the specific Erasmus Plus Collaborative Partnership priority related to promote and support good governance in sport with a specific focus on the major priority to foster and enhance gender equality in sport.

RINMSASFT aim at tackling the challenge related to the well-known existing sponsorship and funding disparities between male and female sport teams at semi-professional level.

RINMSASFT will answer to the abovementioned needs through the following intellectual outputs:

  • IO2: Cross-country research for the identification of the existing landscape of professional profiles of Marketing Managers in the field of Sport. The results of the research will be submitted to a pondered assessment over the potential integration, improvements and modification to the skills, knowledge and methods in light of the peculiarities and needs of the female teams target in order to produce the final outcome which will be a “Technical Curriculum of Marketing Manager of Female Sport Teams”.

The e-modules will be specific per each thematic chapter of the Training Format, and more specifically: Digital Skills for Sport Managers, Management of Sport Events, Marketing and Communication in the field of Sport, Financial Sustainability strategies and mechanisms for Sport organizations, Good Governance and Crowdfunding Strategies. Furthermore, the web platform will contain an innovative section in which users who completed the e-modules programme will be able to acquire a starting marketing strategy plan targeted at their team status containing:
  • Mass Media marketing communication strategy;
  • Social Media marketing communication strategy;
  • Promotional Sport events strategic planning;
  • Crowdfunding events/actions strategic planning.

The project tackles the issue related to the insufficient or total absence of sponsorship and funding of semi-professional female sport teams which affects their sport performance in matter of inadequate facilities and equipment and with its often consequent enacted non-professional solutions to self-finance the expenses, always cause of a denigrating visibility for the team players.

The project envisaged a transnational research and analysis of the up-skill needs of semi-professional female sport team managers, that will result in the compiling of professional Marketing Managers profiles that will be targeted at answering the identified up-skill needs and peculiar issues concerning semi-professional female sport team management. RINMSASFT provides a comprehensive approach for the target group to go through a qualitative and efficient up-skill process by means of which they will successfully acquire all the competences and skills needed to reach their goal. This pattern of activity will be finalized by the production of specific curricula for marketing managers, integrated in a Training Format.

The Web Platform will include the digitalization of the Training Format in e-learning modules, as well as a specific section in which users will be able to have access to a provided team of successful sport business managers as well as marketing experts as inspirational models in order to further refine the competences, means knowledge, skills and attitudes acquired during the piloting activity. The e-learning will be specific per each thematic chapter of the Training Format, and more specifically: Digital Skills for Sport Managers, Management of Sport Events, Marketing and Communication in the field of Sport, Financial Sustainability strategies and mechanisms for Sport organizations, Good Governance and Crowdfunding Strategies. Furthermore, the web platform will contain an innovative section in which users will be able to acquire a starting marketing strategy plan targeted at their team status. The Web Platform “Marketing Communication For Semi-Professional Female Team Sport Managers” will provide a comprehensive system of competences, skills, tools, good practice models and strategies attainment. In fact, after having acquired all the necessary competences and skills and having received the starting plan, managers will be able to further improve it and make it fully efficient and focused on the specific needs and peculiarities of their team.

In addition, the project is innovative in terms of the composition of partnership which it proposes since such cross sectorial transnational collaboration is highly estimated in regards of the production of the proposed outputs and the expected results. The project will establish an innovative cross-sectorial partnership involving various actors such as civil society and sport organizations. Such a collaboration could be considered as an innovative element, especially because in the sport sector partners often do not have a rich experience, and are not that well-established in the local communities, so to realize a project with strong mainstreaming perspectives. Such kind of cooperation could be seen as a stepping stone in view of further partnerships and policy developments and implementation and represent and important aspect and key element of the current proposal.

The working approach that partners have chosen to undertake is innovative too. It proposes to place civil society organizations at the center of the creation of empowering environment for good governance in sports. Such organizations are the ideal entity to link together educational, public and sport institutions, due to their direct contact with target groups and such commitment is a significant success factor within the current project. Moreover, civil society organizations, as well as sport clubs complete the educational system with non-formal and lifelong learning activities that can better prepare and motivate sport actors and managers to participate in other initiatives as part of community life. The project brings also added value by developing unique guidance for female sport clubs, interested to create empowering environments for lifelong learning and education within their entities, as well as cooperation and networking on local and international level.

Through all proposed innovative outputs, as well thanks to the innovative aspect for involving stakeholders in the dissemination phase, the project proposes to achieve success, and the sustainability of the initiative will be guaranteed at a higher level in Europe.
