P.E.rfect

Final #PErfect meeting was held in Kraków
21.11.2024
From November 19 to 21, Kraków, Poland hosted an "An Autism and Behaviour Management training for P.E. school teachers" (P.E.rfect) international partners' meeting dedicated to inclusive education, uniting collaborators from Bulgaria, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Ireland, Spain, Poland, and the Republic of North Macedonia. Held at the Primary School with Integration Classes No. 12, the event provided an opportunity for the project team to review progress, evaluate deliverables, and assess the impact of efforts to create supportive educational environments for students with special needs.
The P.E.rfect project set out with a clear mission: to enhance the quality of physical education for children with autism in mainstream schools across partner countries. Its objectives included mapping good practices, identifying areas for development, and creating a comprehensive training programme and materials tailored for physical education teachers. These efforts aimed to equip teachers with the skills and tools needed to support students with autism effectively.

The project also focused on training trainers to ensure the sustainable delivery of its programme, piloting professional development initiatives, and producing a detailed handbook and toolkit for physical education teachers. A key highlight was the development of an e-learning platform, providing accessible resources and training opportunities for P.E. teachers and sports experts. Educators and professionals are invited to join the platform at https://learningplatform.perfectproject.org/. It offers a wealth of resources, tools, and training materials aimed at fostering inclusive educational practices.

Crucially, the project succeeded in sharing its programme, tools, and recommendations with stakeholders and policy-makers, influencing both national and European educational strategies. By achieving these objectives, the P.E.rfect project not only developed innovative resources but also fostered meaningful change, empowering physical education teachers to create inclusive environments where students with autism can thrive. PErfect highlights not only innovative strategies in inclusive education but also the importance of international collaboration and knowledge-sharing among educators across Europe.

The P.E.rfect initiative builds on the foundation of previous European projects, aiming to enhance the skills and competencies of physical education and sports teachers. Supported by the Erasmus+ program of the European Union, the project focuses on "An Autism and Behaviour Management training for P.E. school teachers," bringing together partners from seven European countries to promote inclusion and excellence in education.
