Just Sport presented at an international anti-doping seminar

The International Seminar "Preventing the Use of Doping in Professional and Sport for All through Training and Investigation" took place on 24 and 25 January in Sofia and gathered 80 foreign and 40 local experts in the field of sport. More than 120 representatives of international anti-doping organizations, representatives of EU member states and anti-doping organizations from Europe, as well as representatives of sports federations in Bulgaria attended the first day of the seminar.
Representatives of 25 anti-doping organizations and 14 EU Member States presented good practices for anti-doping initiatives and campaigns, and the JUST SPORT project. Between 2017 and 2018, the by Bulgarian sports development association is a partner for Bulgaria, co-funded under the Erasmus + program of the European Commission, which aims at addressing the negative consequences that may result the uncontrolled use of nutritional supplements in the field of mass sports (especially in fitness centers). The event is organized within the framework of the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the EU and was also attended by the international partners of the project from Croatia and Slovenia, Vera Mantze from the Rijeka Sports Organization, which is the coordinator of the campaign, introduced the guests to all stages up to now and in the future.
The main national event of the project - the anti-doping seminar "JUST SPORT" will be held from 12 to 16 March 2018 and aims to train 20 fitness instructors and 10 fitness center owners. After the successful completion of the training modules, the participants will receive a certificate of participation, and the fitness center they practice in or own will be added and promoted in the website and the mobile application of the project. We plan to hold the event in Sofia, believing that any event supporting the priorities of the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the EU has a strong added value for the country's overall performance at this crucial moment when Europe turned its eyes on us. On the last day of the event, we will organize a round table to bring together policy-makers in the field of doping, fitness instructors and fitness center owners, academics and sportspeople. A press conference will be held, which will present the results of the anti-doping seminar "JUST SPORT", which will take place on 19 March 2018 at 11:00 in press club Bulgaria.
