INTERNATIONAL THREE POINTS SHOT TO HEALTH TRAINING WAS HELD IN ITALY
26.10.2021
In the period 24-26 October 2021, in Bari, Italy, an international training was held, which aimed to introduce basketball coaches, working with age groups 10-16 years, to the possible traumatic conditions that they may encounter during training, and to the actions they need to take in order to prevent future ones.
Expert kinesitherapists informed the coaches about the basic movements in basketball, determining the most challenging muscle groups and joint capacity. The training methods of the coaches, especially for young people in developmental age, were considered from the point of view of the athlete's health and the necessary improvements were made. During the training, training sessions on the topic of protecting the health of athletes were planned, which in the second part of the training were implemented in practice with young athletes.

The general aim of Three Points Shot to Health project is to plan special basketball training for children aged between 10 and 16 years old. The power and agility developed with plyometric training from an early age should be supported by special preparatory training. These exercises should support the muscles most commonly used in splash-based sports, the ties required for a good balance, and the joints with more mobility. In addition to power, all the related joints, muscles and ligaments should gain a high level of flexibility.

In time, the risk of disability will decrease in strengthening and stretching parts. Of course, young athletes' desire to gain success in a short time or the success of the coaches should be slowed down. Young athletes should not be expelled from high-level competitions without their biological age and without being fully prepared physiologically. Especially coaches working in the 10-16 age range are required to receive special sports health training in the branch.

Three Points Shot to Health project is co-funded by Erasmus+ programme. As a partner of the initiative in Bulgaria is the Bulgarian sports development association. The training was attended by Ivelina Dimitrova (kinesitherapist) and the basketball specialists who are trained in NSA "Vasil Levski" under the guidance of Assoc. Prof. Mariana Borukova - Syuleiman Syuleiman, Victor Pham, Lyubomir Halkaliev, Angelina Dryankova, Margarita Chipova, Daniel Petrov, Daniel Milchev and Gergana Kinova.
