10.09.2022
Children's camp CHILDREN AND THE SEA 2022 was held in the period 4–10 September on the territory of the Water Sports Base "NSA" Nesebar. This is a pilot edition of the camp and 26 children with SEN, GDD and autism, cerebral palsy and Down syndrome took part in it together with their families. Half of the children practice sambo in the club SEN, Sport, SAMBO for development, and the rest practice swimming in #BGandSportsforAll. For most of them, this is their first sports camp. During the camp, the children purposefully improved their skills in swimming, rowing, sambo and general physical fitness, team play, ball games, relay games, dancing, coordination, agility, speed, concentration, standing in rows and columns, dedication, mutual help, consistency and persistence, and others supporting their independence and sports skills. The activities were supported by the NSA’s Adapted Physical Activity Sector and the Bulgarian sports development association /BSDA/, as well as numerous volunteers who ensured the trouble-free implementation of the initiative.
Within the framework of the children's camp, activities under the Sport for Every Child: Fit Kids project were carried out, which is co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme and promotes social inclusion and equal opportunities. The main goal of this project is to develop a modular based Physical Education methodology of sport activities, sport games and exercising for children and youngsters with mental and developmental disorders, illnesses and other disabilities.
