HEPA KIDS CHILDREN SPORTS HOLIDAY WAS HELD IN SOFIA

On the 21st of October, 2022, a sports holiday "Mom, dad and I" was held in Zaimov Park, which was attended by more than 120 children from the 195 "Mormarevi Brothers" kindergarten. The participants had fun with sports and relay games, and Darko Team Athletics School contributed to the sports smiles, which besides with the sports specialists, joined in with an attractive mascot that delighted the children – the Darko wasp. A large number of volunteers took care of the excellent organization, including young people from metropolitan schools and young sports specialists from the Vasil Levski National Sports Academy.
The event was organized by Bulgarian sports development association (BSDA), the Sunday School at the Church of the Nativity, the Sunday School at the Church of St. Martyr Paraskeva, Association of Bulgarians with Asthma, Allergy and COPD, theatre company “The Empty Space”, with the permission of the Metropolitan Municipality.
“Mom, dad and I” was held within "Sports, health and fun for preschool children (SUN)" project, which aims to teach children and young people a healthy lifestyle and give them a good, useful and rewarding start in life. The project aims to raise awareness of issues related to the need for physical activity as a basis for a healthy lifestyle, changing the habits of preschool children and their families in both urban and suburban areas. The duration of the project is 24 months, and it involves 7 partner organizations from six European countries – Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Italy, Portugal, Slovenia and Croatia. The project "Sports, health and fun for preschool children (SUN)’’ is co-funded by the European Union's Erasmus + programme.
