BSDA held an MCE event
13.11.2023
On November 13, 2023, at the National Sports Academy "Vasil Levski" in Sofia, the Bulgarian Sports Development Association held an event as part of the "Multisport Community Experience" project, engaging sports educators, coaches, and students. The project is a collaborative partnership with five partner organizations: the Bulgarian Sports Development Association (Bulgaria), Sports Association in Dubrovnik (Croatia), European Platform for Sports Innovation (Belgium), NGO Nest Berlin (Germany), and the University of Thessaly (Greece).
During the event, the electronic platform "Multisport Community Experience" was introduced, offering a comprehensive and fun activity in the form of a game for all age groups. Community members register on the MCE project application, providing information about their level of physical activity and other lifestyle-related details. The application calculates individual results and combines them into the community's "health index." Individuals can earn points for their team by engaging in physical activities, participating in local social events, and organizing such events. This way, the MCE project has a dual purpose: to promote sports participation and foster a sense of belonging and connection within the community.

One of the project activities involves researching and analyzing the needs of all community members, from individual families to the broader public, from sports coaches and managers to sports clubs and municipal departments working in this field. The research aims to identify the level and frequency of respondents' participation in sports and/or physical activity, existing initiatives promoting sports participation and an active lifestyle, barriers and limitations hindering access to them, as well as the applications and digital platforms respondents use to monitor their level of physical activity. The study helped the consortium gain insights into the situation of their local communities regarding sports participation and their level of physical activity, enabling the MCE project to be implemented in a way that maximally meets their needs and addresses existing challenges in physical activity.

Multisport Community Experience is co-funded under the Erasmus+ program of the European Union.
