Sliven Plays TOGETHER! 2026
17.10.2026
On October 17th, 2026, the latest edition of the inclusive sports event “Sliven Plays TOGETHER!” took place in Yunak Park, in front of the Stanka Zlateva Wrestling Hall in the town of Sliven. The event brought together dozens of children, young people, parents, coaches and people with disabilities for a day dedicated to physical activity, acceptance and the shared joy of sport.
The initiative was organised by “Brave Dolphins”, a programme of Sliven–2002 Swimming Club, led by coach and inspiration Veselina Kazakova, with the support of Sliven Municipality, the National Sports Academy “Vasil Levski” and local sports clubs. Bulgarian sports development association (BSDA) took part in the initiative once again, supporting the message that sport should be accessible to everyone.
The agenda offered participants the opportunity to take part in a variety of sports activities, including judo, acrobatics, basketball, flag football, wrestling, table tennis and football. These activities encouraged participation, mutual support and the development of new friendships, regardless of individual abilities and needs.
Initiatives like this play a particularly important role in creating an inclusive sporting environment where differences are not a barrier to participation. Taking part in sports together promotes mutual respect, self-confidence and social skills, while also helping to change public attitudes towards people with disabilities.
“Sliven Plays TOGETHER!” once again demonstrated that the greatest strength of sport lies in its ability to bring people together and create opportunities for everyone to be part of the community. Because our strength lies in acceptance, and together we can achieve more!
