BSDA took part in European Week of Sport 2019

Ministry of Youth and Sports organized "European Week of Sport #BEactive" for the fifth consecutive year. From 23 to 30 September 2019, people of all ages had the opportunity to get acquainted with over 50 sports and practice them freely. The campaign was opened by the Minister of Youth and Sports Krasen Kralev on September 23, 2019, and from 24 to 26 September between 10 am and 5 pm in Arena Armeec the Ministry has organized Sports Fair #BeActive Fair, in which the Bulgarian Sports Development Association took part .
The event was attended by over 100 participants - federations and sports clubs, who presented their activities with information stands and demonstrations. The aim of the sports fair is to present to children and young people a variety of sports from which they can choose the most suitable for them. Through the EWoS, sports federations and clubs had the opportunity to find talented children to work with in the future. The final of the European Week of Sport was marked with Sports #BeActive Night, which took place on September 28 between 18.30 and 21.30 in the space in front of the National Palace of Culture and included demonstrations of extreme sports, marathon with speed climbing the stairs of the National Palace of Culture, orienteering, ballooning and much more.
#BeActive 2019 is part of an initiative of the European Commission to promote sports and physical activity of EU citizens. The National Coordinator for Bulgaria is the Ministry of Youth and Sport, and the initiative is co-financed under the Erasmus+ program of the European Union. In 2018, 50,000 events took place, in which 13 million people took part in Europe, the countries of the Western Balkans and the Eastern Partnership. Ambassadors of the European Sports Week this year again succeeded Bulgarian athletes and talented young athletes.
Bulgarian Sports Development Association presented the activities it implements, including the application "Sports close to you", which provides information about organized training in sports in over 300 sports clubs in Bulgaria and current projects and initiatives:

- Back2Track project coordinated by the Bulgarian sports development association, which aims at analyzing the differences and similarities that sports clubs have in their approach to professional and mass sport as well as in an innovative approach to include disadvantaged children in sport and physical activity. The project aims to find a way to create the practical skills and knowledge in participating organizations how to manage sports programs for mass sports, along with sports programs for professional athletes. In May 2019 Bulgaria hosted a children's athletics contest involving children from Croatia and Belgium and the main organizer of the event was the KLASA Athletics Club, a partner in the Back2Track project co-funded under the Erasmus +.
- #GoodGovernanceSport project is coordinated by the Bulgarian sports development association. #GoodGovernanceSport - 590305-EPP-1-2017-1-BG-SPO-SCP / and is co-funded by Erasmus + Sport of the European Commission / Strategic Partnerships in Sport / partnership of 7 countries, which will last for 30 months, starting on 01/01/2018. The #GoodGovernanceSport project aims to find a way to analyze, collect and promote good practices for appropriate visibility of decisions made and made, responsible bodies and transparency of sports organizations in Europe and partner countries.
