Beyond Barriers

27.11.2025
The Bulgarian Sports Development Association (BSDA) took part in the official Erasmus+ Sport – Kick-off Meeting 2025, held online on 27 November 2025. The event gathered all newly selected beneficiaries under the Erasmus+ Sport programme for the 2025 cycle and provided detailed guidance on administrative, financial, and operational procedures that organizations must follow throughout their upcoming project implementations.
The event began with an introductory session presenting the main principles and expectations of the programme, ensuring that all participants start their projects with clarity and a shared understanding.

The first thematic panel outlined the key steps organisations need to take at the beginning of the project cycle. The focus was placed on effective communication, maintaining functional partnerships, and meeting the necessary reporting requirements. The subsequent Q&A session provided an opportunity to clarify specific details and procedural elements.

The programme continued with a second panel dedicated to managing changes, risks and unforeseen situations during project implementation. Guidance was provided on proper documentation, transparency in processes and the preparation of final reports that accurately reflect the activities carried out and the results achieved. The session concluded with an additional discussion addressing financial requirements, documentation standards and the rules for ensuring programme compliance.

BSDA took part in the Kick-off Meeting, as coordinator of the newly approved Erasmus+ project “Beyond Barriers.” The initiative aims to enhance the visibility, communication capacity, and long-term sustainability of sport organizations working with people with disabilities, addressing challenges such as limited media representation, a lack of digital communication tools, and restricted access to sponsorship and partnerships. The project will include research and mapping of current practices, a capacity-building programme, the development of a communication Toolkit, an awareness and visibility campaign, and a final European networking event. Through these activities, Beyond Barriers seeks to strengthen inclusive sport and improve public understanding of disability sport at both national and European level. BSDA will coordinate the project in partnership with AETOI Thessaloniki (Greece), continuing its engagement in initiatives promoting inclusion, equal opportunities, and development within the field of sport.
