BSDA Took Part in the Erasmus+ Sport Kick-off 2025
27.11.2025
The Bulgarian Sports Development Association (BSDA) took part in the official Erasmus+ Sport – Kick-off Meeting 2025, held online on 27 November 2025. The event gathered all newly selected beneficiaries under the Erasmus+ Sport programme for the 2025 cycle and provided detailed guidance on administrative, financial, and operational procedures that organizations must follow throughout their upcoming project implementations.
The meeting opened with a welcome address delivered by Theo Duivenvoorde, Head of the Erasmus+ Mundus & Sport Unit at EACEA, and was moderated by Gael Broze, Head of the Erasmus+ Sport Sector. From the outset, participants were introduced to the main principles and expectations of the programme, ensuring that all organizations start their projects with clear instructions and shared understanding.
The first session, “The starting whistle,” was led by representatives of the Erasmus+ Sport Sector - Zanete Tifentale, Florence Punzano, and Izabela Pelczynska. Their presentations provided an overview of the essential steps beneficiaries must take at the beginning of their projects, including how to communicate effectively with project officers, how to maintain cooperation with partner organizations, and what type of reporting is expected during implementation. A dedicated question-and-answer segment allowed participants to explore specific details and clarify procedural requirements.
The second thematic block, “The rules of the game,” focused on the practicalities of managing changes, risks, and unexpected circumstances during the project lifecycle. Speakers Sophie Lemel, Ariadni Chorti, and Chiara Funari presented guidance on how organizations should document adjustments, ensure transparency, and prepare final reports that accurately reflect project activities and achieved results. The session concluded with a Q&A segment that addressed financial rules, documentation standards, and programme compliance.
BSDA took part in the Kick-off Meeting, as coordinator of the newly approved Erasmus+ project “Beyond Barriers.” The initiative aims to enhance the visibility, communication capacity, and long-term sustainability of sport organizations working with people with disabilities, addressing challenges such as limited media representation, a lack of digital communication tools, and restricted access to sponsorship and partnerships. The project will include research and mapping of current practices, a capacity-building programme, the development of a communication Toolkit, an awareness and visibility campaign, and a final European networking event. Through these activities, Beyond Barriers seeks to strengthen inclusive sport and improve public understanding of disability sport at both national and European level. BSDA will coordinate the project in partnership with AETOI Thessaloniki (Greece), continuing its engagement in initiatives promoting inclusion, equal opportunities, and development within the field of sport.
