DevelopMENS

International online conference DevelopMENS
15.10.2026
On October 15th 2026, the international online conference under the DevelopMENS project brought together more than 80 participants from around the world. The event welcomed young people, trainers, youth workers, educators and representatives of various organisations, who exchanged experiences and good practices in the field of young people’s personal and social development.
A key highlight of the conference was the presentation of the free DevelopMENS educational platform, available at www.developmens.eu. Participants explored the educational resources developed to support the acquisition of transversal skills, critical thinking, media literacy and intrinsic motivation. The agenda included practical demonstrations, interactive activities and discussions on how the platform can be used in youth work and education.

In a context of rapid technological and social change, these skills are becoming increasingly important for young people’s future success. Critical thinking and media literacy help them identify disinformation and make informed decisions, while transversal skills and intrinsic motivation strengthen their ability to adapt, communicate effectively and take responsibility for their own development. Developing these competences lays the groundwork for more active civic participation and better career prospects.

The DevelopMENS educational platform is available completely free of charge at www.developmens.eu and is designed for young people aged 13 to 17. It offers interactive courses and practical resources aimed at developing transversal skills, critical thinking, media literacy and personal motivation. Learners can complete the courses independently and at their own pace. Upon successful completion, the platform automatically generates a certificate recognising the knowledge and skills acquired.

The DevelopMENS project is co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union and brings together organisations from six countries: Italy, Croatia, Bulgaria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Albania and Kosovo. The Bulgarian partner is the Bulgarian sports development association (BSDA).
