International Meeting under the EGSID Project
07.09.2025
In the period September 4–7, 2025, an international partner meeting was held in La Coruna, Spain, within the framework of the “Empowering Grassroots Sport for Inclusion and Development” (EGSID) project – an inspiring initiative aimed at using sport as a driver for social change and inclusion. The event was organized by FC La Coruna and brought together representatives of partner organizations from Albania, Bulgaria, and Spain.
The EGSID project, co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union, aims to strengthen the capacity of local sports organizations by making them more inclusive, sustainable, and effective. Through training, exchange of good practices, and networking, the initiative places sport at the center of efforts for equality, health, and social integration of vulnerable groups.

During the two-day work meeting, the results achieved so far and the future steps of the project were discussed. The partners presented key work packages related to:
• Project management and coordination;
• Review of the training modules developed by BSDA;
• Creation of an online training platform;
• Needs analysis and stakeholder engagement;
• Communication, dissemination, and sustainability of results.

The program included practical workshops, attendance at a football match, and thematic discussions focused on improving cooperation and increasing the visibility of the project at both local and European level. At the end of the meeting, concrete future activities were outlined, including a timeline of upcoming events and expected results.

“EGSID places sport at the center of social change – as a means of overcoming social differences and building more cohesive and fair communities. For BSDA, this partnership is another step in our mission to use sport as a tool for development and solidarity,” shared from Bulgarian sports development association.

The EGSID project is co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union and will be implemented in Albania, Bulgaria, and Spain over a period of 24 months.
