International Meeting on the HER SPORT Project

16.02.2025
From February 13-16, 2025, an international partnership meeting was held in Barcelona, Spain, bringing together partners from Bulgaria, Greece, Serbia, and Spain. The meeting aimed to assess progress, exchange ideas, share best practices, and discuss tools to promote inclusion and accessibility in sports for girls aged 13-17.
The HER SPORT project is dedicated to improving equal opportunities in sports, particularly for young girls in rural and remote areas. The initiative aims to engage 200 girls at risk of being excluded from sports activities and provide training for 32 sports coaches and club directors on key topics related to inclusion and equality.
During the meeting in Barcelona, representatives from partner organizations discussed the project's achievements so far and planned the next phases of awareness campaigns. They also outlined upcoming activities, including Phase 2 events in Bulgaria, Greece, and Spain, as well as the final event in Serbia. The project focuses on community engagement strategies, training methodologies for sports professionals, and innovative approaches to removing barriers to sports participation and physical activity.
As a key milestone in the project's 24-month implementation, the meeting in Barcelona reinforced the commitment of all stakeholders to ensuring that sports become a tool for social inclusion. The outcomes of this meeting will contribute to the development of educational materials, family guides, and recommendations aimed at creating lasting change.
HER SPORT is co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union and advocates for equal access to sports, empowering young girls to overcome challenges and benefit from an active lifestyle.
