HER SPORT final meeting in Serbia
25.10.2026
From 22 to 25 October 2026, the final international partner meeting and closing conference of the HER SPORT project took place in Niš, Serbia, bringing together coaches, physical education teachers and experts from Bulgaria, Greece, Serbia and Spain. The events focused on equal opportunities for girls in sport, encouraging their participation and creating a more inclusive and supportive sporting environment.
Bulgarian sports development association (BSDA) was represented by Ivaylo Zdravkov, a board member of the organisation, and Assoc. Prof. Kornelia Naydenova from the Faculty of Education, Department of Theory of Physical Education. Their participation contributed to the exchange of experience and good practices among partner organisations and to discussions on opportunities for the sustainable implementation of the project’s results.
During the international meeting, the partners presented the results achieved and discussed their experiences in implementing project activities in their respective countries. Particular attention was given to the developed Guidelines for Sports Coaches and the Family Handbook, which provide practical tools for supporting girls in sport and creating a more favourable environment for their development. The video material Story-Experience was also presented, highlighting personal experiences and perspectives in sport.
The final conference, entitled “From Project to Practice”, provided an opportunity to showcase good practices from the partner countries and discuss the topic “Girls in Sport – Participation, Access and Inclusion”. Participants exchanged ideas on overcoming barriers faced by girls, improving access to sporting activities and promoting equality at all levels of the sports system.
A key focus of the agenda was the sustainability of the results achieved and future cooperation among the partners. Through an interactive workshop, participants explored how the resources developed and the experience gained could be adapted to local contexts and put into practice by sports organisations, coaches, physical education teachers and families.
The HER SPORT project promotes equal opportunities for girls in sport and supports the creation of an environment where every girl can participate, develop and fulfil her potential. BSDA’s participation in the closing events reinforces the organisation’s commitment to equality, inclusion and the use of sport as a tool for personal development and social change.
Through international partnership and the exchange of knowledge, the project contributes to translating good practices into concrete actions that promote more accessible, equitable and inclusive sport for girls.
The HER SPORT project is co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union and is being implemented in Bulgaria, Greece, Serbia and Spain over a period of 24 months.
