On October 16, 2024, Bulgarian sports development association successfully realized a local event in Sofia under the Orienteering with Snorkeling project. The initiative focuses on orienteering and snorkeling activities in a shallow marine environment, pools and lakes and aims to bring together children with disabilities with their peers without disabilities.
The orienteering with snorkeling event was a considerable success with participants developing their skills and confidence. Despite the initial challenges of adapting to the water environment, the event was a success thanks to the support of the qualified specialists from the Adapted Physical Activity and Sport Sector at the “Vasil Levski” NSA and the attentive approach to each participant.
The activities of the Orienteering with Snorkeling project proved to be extremely successful and provided meaningful and memorable experiences for all participants. The positive feedback from coaches, families and children highlights the importance of inclusive sport activities and their potential to bring communities together.
OR. with SNORKELING project is co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union and is going to be implemented by an international consortium from Bulgaria, Turkey and the Republic of North Macedonia.
