04.12.2025
In the period December 4 – 5, 2025, an expert meeting under the ParaEMPOWER project took place in Milan, bringing together representatives from organizations in Croatia, Serbia, Bulgaria, Germany, Italy, Greece, and Montenegro. Bulgarian sports development association was among the active participants in the working sessions dedicated to the advancement of parasports in Europe, represented by Joanna Dochevska and Velina Toneva.
The first day featured presentations on the progress of the research and the development of a training toolkit, as well as a discussion and validation of the main findings from the project’s ongoing study – “Challenges and needs of parasport organizations”. Partners shared data, analyses, and examples that are going to form the basis for future recommendations and resources.

The second day focused on creating guidelines for the online platform and the upcoming international training session in Montenegro in March 2026. These will be developed based on the research results and will provide coaches, sports professionals, and organizations working in adapted sports with practical, accessible, and tailored materials to support the growth of parasport in the region.

The meeting in Milan was marked by constructive dialogue and a shared commitment to improving the environment for parasport in Europe. The partners outlined the next steps and will continue working on the development of ParaEMPOWER’s key outputs.
