RISE project presents its fourth newsletter featuring project updates and results
25.10.2026
The fourth newsletter of the RISE project presents the key results, resources developed, and progress achieved in efforts to prevent sexual violence in sport. The project brings together partners from Austria, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Greece, Italy, and Spain and is implemented with the support of the Erasmus+ programme. As part of the project, research studies, protocols, guidelines, and training materials have been developed to help create a safer and more inclusive sporting environment. The fourth newsletter highlights the key results and resources designed to support athletes, coaches, sports professionals, and organisations.
The main highlights of the newsletter include:
✅ Research findings from two studies exploring the prevalence of sexual violence in sport, awareness and information needs, and good practices for prevention.
✅ A protocol for identifying, reporting, and supporting victims and survivors of sexual violence in sport.
✅ Practical guidelines on codes of conduct, creating a safe and healthy sporting environment, and supporting athletes.
✅ A training programme featuring 12 modules designed for sports professionals and young athletes, alongside an online learning platform providing access to educational resources.
✅ Recommendations for sports organisations, clubs, federations, and public authorities to improve safeguarding policies, reporting mechanisms, and support for victims and survivors.
✅ Educational videos and an awareness-raising campaign promoting the prevention of sexual violence in sport.

The project's final transnational meeting took place in Cyprus in October 2026, bringing partners together to review the results achieved and discuss opportunities to ensure the long-term use of the materials and tools developed.

The RISE project continues to promote a culture of safety, respect, and shared responsibility, where every athlete has the right to develop and participate in sporting activities free from fear of violence.
