BSDA held RISE Info day

On October 27th, 2026, Bulgarian sports development association (BSDA) organised a National Info day at the National Sports Academy “Vasil Levski” in Sofia as part of the European project RISE – Rise Empowered Above Sexual Violence in Sports, co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme.
The event aimed to present the results achieved and the practical tools developed to prevent sexual violence in sport, as well as to encourage their implementation in the work of sports federations, clubs, coaches and other professionals.
During the Info day, participants were introduced to a research report on sexual violence in sport, a protocol for identifying and reporting cases and supporting victims, guidelines and educational materials for young athletes, as well as an educational and training programme. They also learned about the RISE e-learning platform, educational videos and digital resources developed within the project.
The agenda included a discussion on the challenges of creating a safer sporting environment and the opportunities for the sustainable implementation of the resources developed beyond the project's completion.
RISE brings together partners from six European countries: Austria, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Greece, Italy and Spain. Through research, educational activities and practical tools, the initiative contributes to creating a sporting environment based on respect, safety, equality and the protection of athletes, particularly young people.
The key message of RISE is that preventing sexual violence is a shared responsibility that requires the active involvement of everyone in sport.
