On September 26, from 14:00 to 22:00, Studentski Park hosted the big sports initiative “Students City Gets Active” as part of the European Week of Sport #BeActive calendar. The event offered a rich program – a children’s marathon, demonstrations of more than 16 sports, zumba, baseball, sambo, kung fu, field hockey, badminton, skateboarding, football, rugby, table tennis, and many more surprises. The event was organized by Sofia Municipality – Studentski District, in partnership with NSA “Vasil Levski,” Bulgarian sports development association (BSDA), and a number of sports clubs and federations. During the initiative, BSDA also presented the platform “Sport Close to You,” which connects people with the nearest sports opportunities in the city.
Within the framework of the event, the initiative #Train4Family, which is co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union, was also promoted. The event created opportunities for shared experiences between children, families, and institutions in a spirit of acceptance, activity, and tradition. Train4Family is an international initiative involving partners from Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Turkey, Italy, Slovenia, and Spain, aimed at encouraging the inclusion of children with disabilities and their families through sport and a healthy lifestyle.
