27.02.2026
In the period 25-27 February 2026, in Nicosia, Cyprus, representatives of Bulgarian sports development association (BSDA) took part in a partner meeting under the LeadHerGame project – an innovative European initiative aimed at empowering women in sport and promoting equal access to leadership positions.
LeadHerGame supports sports organizations in their efforts to become more inclusive by developing a practical and adaptable framework for reviewing governance and recruitment processes. The project foresees the creation of concrete action plans, including the introduction of gender equality officer roles and the implementation of transparent and fair procedures for selecting leadership staff. By the end of the initiative, at least seven national federations and ten sports clubs are expected to adopt the developed measures.

During the meeting, project partners discussed the progress of several work packages related to project management and monitoring, the development of an online library dedicated to gender equality in sport, the creation of a communication and media campaign, the strengthening of leadership skills, as well as the initiative’s sustainability and policy impact.

The project is being implemented over a period of 30 months in partnership with organizations from Bulgaria, Lithuania, Cyprus, Greece, Italy, Romania, and Croatia, and is co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union. Through its participation, BSDA continues its mission to contribute to a more inclusive and sustainable European sports community through educational and institutional initiatives.
