Adapted start during the 8th edition of Darko Team Baby Cup
30.11.2025
On 30 November 2025, Darko Team Baby Cup – Episode 8 took place, turning the sports arena into a space filled with joy, shared energy, and a genuine spirit of inclusion. The event opened with the traditional adapted start for children and young people with intellectual disabilities – some of the most inspiring participants, who, with their smiles and courage, showed how sport unites and empowers.
Athletes from SC Adapted Sports, SEN Sport Sambo for Development and the “Golden Team” from Svishtov joined the adapted starts. With dedication and support, they motivate their athletes to believe in themselves and in the opportunities that sport provides. The children started confidently, encouraged by their coaches, teammates, and volunteers – people with big hearts who help turn events like this into a true celebration of movement.
Once again, the Darko Team Baby Cup reminded us that sport has the power to build communities, promote acceptance, and inspire. Moments from this special day capture emotions that are difficult to describe but easy to feel – joy, triumph and a sense of belonging.
The athletes competed under the slogan Athletics for Inclusion and Tolerance (AIT) – an initiative supported by Erasmus+ programme of the European Union and coordinated by the Darko Team Athletics School, the event’s organizer. Athletics for Inclusion and Tolerance (AIT) is an Erasmus+ project aimed at improving access to sport for young people with disabilities in Eastern Europe. Its goals include providing qualified coaches and encouraging tolerance through inclusive sports activities. The project features sporting events, coach training, first-aid courses, and the development of a handbook for organizing inclusive sports events. Through sport, we build a more inclusive and tolerant society.
