BSDA participated in a meeting of project coordinators and EACEA
14.12.2023
On December 14, 2023, an online meeting was held between the coordinators of projects starting in 2024, co-funded by the Erasmus+ Sport program, and representatives of the Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA), responsible for managing funding for Education, Culture, Audiovisual, Sport, Citizenship, and Volunteering within the Union.

During the meeting, the current focuses in the administration, implementation, and reporting of projects in the sports field were presented, along with the realization of the outlined activities. The team of the Bulgarian Sports Development Association participated in the meeting regarding the newly launched initiative #BeInclusiveWaterPolo, set to commence on January 1, 2024, co-funded by the Erasmus+ program of the European Union.
#BeInclusiveWaterPolo is an initiative co-funded by the #ErasmusPlus program, aiming to develop new sports activities in the field of inclusive sports for people with intellectual disabilities in Bulgaria and Croatia. In line with the latest trends in adapted sports and the introduction of new forms of adapted physical activities within local communities, the #BeInclusiveWaterPolo project will significantly contribute to increasing the opportunities for sports inclusion among individuals with intellectual disabilities. It aims to empower water polo clubs in Bulgaria and Croatia to offer a novel, practically tested opportunity for people with special needs, thereby strengthening their capacity in the field of adapted sports.

Key outputs of #BeInclusiveWaterPolo:
• An international sports event, #BeInclusiveWaterPolo, involving participants from Bulgaria and Croatia.
• Printed publication - #BeInclusiveWaterPolo handbook designed to assist sports clubs in the EU in implementing the practically tested methodology developed during the project and to develop inclusive water polo programs within their sports organizations.
• An online platform that will host an online edition of the handbook and video tutorials on adapted water polo rules.

The #BeInclusiveWaterPolo initiative is carried out by three partners from two different EU countries - the Bulgarian Sports Development Association, the Bulgarian Swimmers Association, and the Sports Association of Rijeka for Persons with Disabilities - experienced organizations in the sports field with project management expertise that can share their knowledge during the project. #BeInclusiveWaterPolo is co-funded by the Erasmus+ program of the European Union.
