International partner meeting under the POP-UP project in Romania

In the period 3–6 June, 2025, the town of Arad, Romania, hosted the next international partner meeting under the “POP-UP – Sport for Strengthening and Improving Personal and Professional Pathways” project, which is funded by the European Commission. The meeting brought together representatives of partner organizations from several European countries, united around the project’s shared goal – promoting social and professional integration through sport among vulnerable groups. The event was filled with working sessions and round tables focused on the progress of key project activities. The agenda included:
A presentation of the project and its main activities, along with a detailed review of current progress.
Within Work Package 3 (WP3): Pedagogical Tools, the following topics were discussed:
• The next steps in the development and testing of teaching tools (phase 3.4);
• Suggestions for the content of the testing report;
• As well as the preparation of a full set of pedagogical tools with user guides (phase 3.5).
Two key round tables were held:
• The first focused on the development of a positioning tool “Sport and Health” (D3.2);
• The second – on creating a tool for monitoring and evaluating interdisciplinary skills (D3.3).
Within Work Package 4 (WP4), the practical activity guide for coordinators, coaches, and instructors was presented – emphasizing the objectives, methodology, timeline, and expected outcomes.
In Work Package 5 (WP5): Communication and Dissemination, partners shared up-to-date information about:
• The current status of the project’s website;
• Social media activity;
• Promotional materials;
• The schedule for e-newsletters;
• As well as planning the initiatives part of the European Week of Sport, which will be celebrated in each partner country.
The final session of the packed program included:
• An evaluation of the meeting using a SWOT analysis;
• Planning of next steps;
• Preparation for the next international meeting, which will take place in Bulgaria.
The meeting was excellently organized and provided an opportunity for in-depth expert discussion and coordination among the partners. POP-UP continues to develop innovative approaches to integration through sport and builds bridges between the social sector, education, and sports.
POP-UP is co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union and is a joint partnership between Belgium, Bulgaria, France, Italy, Poland, and Romania. The project will engage 100 professionals and 300 participants, including one-third women and people with disabilities (100 individuals).
