The ParaEMPOWER project is set to revolutionize parasport coaching by enhancing the quality of training and practices in organizations and institutions that prepare individuals to become parasport coaches. Addressing Stereotypes and Breaking Barriers
In many countries, persons with disabilities face unfavorable stereotypes and societal prejudice, often resulting in exclusion from education, employment, and community life. This marginalization deprives them of opportunities essential to their social development, health, and overall well-being. The ParaEMPOWER project seeks to tackle these issues head-on by using sport as a tool to challenge stigma and discrimination.
Comprehensive Training for Parasport Coaches
Through an innovative online platform featuring educational videos, ParaEMPOWER combines practical, hands-on learning with research-based materials to provide in-depth training for parasport coaches. This approach ensures that coaches are equipped with the skills, knowledge, and confidence needed to create inclusive and effective sports programs for individuals with disabilities.
Building Capacity Across the Sport Sector
The project goes beyond training coaches by promoting capacity building across the entire sport sector. It supports sport administrators, experts, and volunteers involved in parasport entities by providing the tools and resources needed for effective organizational management. By fostering good governance and operational excellence, ParaEMPOWER aims to strengthen the foundations of parasport organizations.
