The project "UPSkilling Coaches: A New Methodology to Empower Female Coaches in Minority Sports" is the result of a synergistic partnership between organizations from four European countries – Italy, Bulgaria, Lithuania, and Hungary. With a primary focus on empowering female coaches in minority sports, the project introduces groundbreaking training tools to enhance skills, coaching quality, and employability.
Aligned with the 2022 recommendations of the High-Level Group on Gender Equality in sport, UPSkilling Coaches addresses the sector-specific priority of promoting education in and through sport. It goes beyond conventional approaches by fostering a comprehensive development plan for female coaches. The overarching goal is not only to elevate their skills but also to catalyze positive transformations in their professional journeys.

The key deliverables of the UPSkilling Coaches project are diverse and comprehensive. The project envisions a robust research report that delves into the unique challenges and opportunities for female coaches in minority sports. The UPSkilling Coaches Methodology will serve as a structured framework, guiding the implementation of innovative training approaches. An e-learning toolbox will be curated, providing a dynamic and accessible resource for ongoing learning.

In addition, the project aspires to establish a far-reaching European network for coaches. This network will not only facilitate knowledge exchange but also serve as a vibrant community for mutual support and collaboration. Complementing these initiatives are targeted training activities, workshops, and awareness-raising campaigns, aiming to challenge stereotypes and foster inclusivity.
At its core, the UPSkilling Coaches project seeks to transcend the limitations faced by female coaches in minority sports. By challenging stereotypes and promoting inclusivity, it aspires to be a catalyst for transformative change in the landscape of sports coaching.

UPSkilling Coaches is co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union and will be implemented in Bulgaria, Hungary, Italy and Lithuania in a period of 24 months.
