In the period 12-15 of September 2023, in Bulgaria was held the final project meeting of SMILE initiative – Sport, Motivation, Inclusion, Leadership, Engagement, which is co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union and is coordinated by Bulgarian sports development association. The initiative aims to analyse the link between sport and inclusion in an innovative and different way – by ensuring international participation in sport activities of persons with intellectual disabilities.

On September 11-12, 2023, in Sofia, Bulgaria, Bulgarian sports development association has organized a partner meeting as part of the project "An educational and training program for older adults at risk of developing dementia through table tennis /hAlt/." During this meeting, partners discussed the progress of project activities and planned future initiatives that explore how sports and physical activities can contribute to improving the lives and well-being of individuals with Alzheimer's disease. Table tennis is one of the most brain-engaging physical activities, and what's even better is that even older players can enjoy playing table tennis. This sport has a positive impact on physical activity levels, improves attention and concentration, and enhances visual-spatial skills.

In the period 7-11 September 2023, Sofia hosted the international entrepreneurship training program "EntrepreNEETs," aimed at young women (aged 18-29) with the goal of promoting female entrepreneurship in Bulgaria, Germany, Italy, and Slovakia. Each country selected five participants, who over the course of three working days, discussed the challenges facing women entrepreneurs and worked on innovative ideas based on social and community needs.

In the period from August 27th to 29th, 2023, a international meeting was held in Ormož, Slovenia, within the framework of the project CHEER, which aims to improve the mental health of young people by stimulating their creativity and harnessing their youthful enthusiasm. The crisis caused by the coronavirus epidemic has had a negative impact on young people in Europe. The fight against the pandemic and the introduced restrictive measures have weakened the mental well-being of the youth. Many of them feel that this crisis is taking away the most valuable period of their lives – their youth. As a result, young people are facing numerous mental challenges for which they are not receiving sufficient institutional and social support.

In the period 25-28 of August 2023, in Rijeka, Croatia was held the mid-term meeting of the international consortium, that implements the innovative initiative #SWIM – Swim Without Fear, that deliver its activities until June 2024. Representatives of the consortium had the chance to analyze the completed so far #SWIM activities, to approve the project research about hydrophobia in early age, implemented until the meeting and to plan the remaining actions – handbook for kids and parents, testing and dissemination events. During the meeting the #SWIM partners from Bulgaria and Croatia had practical visits in Kantrida Swimming Pools and fruitful meetings with sport experts, managers, coaches and decision makers.

On August 23, 2023, at the Granichki Monastery "St. Luke," within the first-ever summer camp organized by the Sunday School at the "Nativity of Christ" church, the Sunday School at the "St. Martyr Paraskeva" church, the Association of Bulgarians with Allergic and Lung Diseases, and the Theatrical Company "Empty Space," a sports event took place as part of the SMS - Strong Mind for Success project. On August 10, 2023, at the Kremikovsky Monastery "St. George the Victorious," within the framework of a summer camp held at the monastery and organized annually by Milena Yotsova, a promotional event took place as part of the "Ramps4Champs" project. The event brought together children and young people with intellectual disabilities, with biggest part of the group belonging to Parallel World NGO (Plovdiv) and educational specialists, providing them with practical and theoretical tools for socialization and social integration through the sport of Boccia for people with disabilities. They discussed the power of sports in supporting integration processes in society and how it can serve as a catalyst for more effective and sustainable social change.

The final meeting of the On the way to acceptance – a non-formal Youth program of innovative tools to learn project was held in Ankara, Turkey on June 19, 2023. Joanna Dochevska – chairperson of BSDA took part in the meeting, during which the materials created by the project team – comics, metaphorical cards and digital Escape room, were discussed. The partners from Bulgaria, Poland, Greece and Turkey also discussed future joint initiatives in the field of youth.

From June 12th to 15th, 2023, an international conference and partners meeting were held in Copenhagen (Denmark) as part of the Fit For Kids Europe initiative, bringing together policymakers in the field of sports and healthcare from 10 European countries. The main goal of Fit for Kids Europe is to establish a network of sports associations and non-governmental organizations in the EU that are willing to collaborate in order to increase the participation of inactive children and children with overweight and obesity in organized sports activities after school. Over 4 million children in the EU are overweight, which costs the Union 80 billion euros annually invested in healthcare systems to address this issue, and 70% of these children will continue to be overweight as adults.

In the period June 12-15, 2023, the final meeting of the "ORIENT - Young explorers re-discover local communities through orienteering" project was held in Graz, Austria. During the meeting the achieved results of the project were discussed, as well as the ways to popularize them. The consortium consists of 5 European countries and one country from the Western Balkans: Italy, Bulgaria, Greece, Cyprus, Austria and Bosnia and Herzegovina. One of the main aims of the project was to encourage young people's participation in outdoor activities based on the sport of 'Orienteering' and also how to address and promote “social inclusion and equal opportunities in sport” by developing a set of innovative learning outcomes.

On the 9th of June 2023, in the town of Samokov, Bulgaria, Bulgarian sports development association held a dissemination event within the framework of the EntrepreNEETs initiative, in which sports specialists, sports managers and professionals in the field of sports participated.
