The international meeting for the #Train4Family project took place on October 11-12, 2024, in Palermo, Italy, gathering representatives from several countries to discuss key topics and project progress. The meeting was attended by Joanna Dochevska and Stefka Dzhobova – representatives of Bulgarian sports development association, partner in the initiative from Bulgaria. The first day featured presentations of the Multinational Report and eLearning platform, which provide educational resources for families of children with disabilities and sports specialists.

In the period 4-7 October 2024, the final international partner meeting of the Sport Community Against Eating Disorders (SCAED) project took place in Skopje, North Macedonia. The project was co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union and was attended by representatives from six European organisations, including Bulgaria, Italy, Poland, North Macedonia, Croatia and Greece. Ivaylo Zdravkov, board member of Bulgarian sports development association and Nikola Zdravkov, coordinator of the Youth Section of BSDA took part in the meeting.

On the 2nd of October 2024, coaches, students and young football players from the “Vasil Levski” NSA School officially started their training sessions in support of the SMS – Strong Mind for Success initiative. During the event the participants received specially developed #SMS handbooks created within the project. These handbooks provide important mental health resources and are aimed at raising awareness of the importance of mental wellbeing among young athletes.

On October 1st, 2024, at the "Vasil Levski" National Sports Academy in Sofia, a national training was held under the title "An Autism and Behaviour Management training for P.E. School Teachers" (P.E.rfect), organized by Bulgarian sports development association. The event aimed to improve the competences of coaches, sports specialists and physical education teachers for working with children with autism spectrum disorders in order to include them more effectively in the education system and sports activities. The training provided participants with practical and theoretical guidance that will help them integrate these students into the learning environment in the most appropriate way.

On September 29th 2024, at the "Vasil Levski" National Stadium in Sofia, Darko Team "Sprint Cup 2024" was held, which was part of the European Week of Sport and marked the beginning of the new season in the school. This event was part of the "Carbon Neutral Sports Clubs Network – C ZERO SPORT CLUBS" initiative, which is co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Commission. The project aims to encourage small sports clubs in Europe to take concrete action to protect the climate by implementing eco-friendly management practices and using digital tools.

The week, which takes the form of an awareness-raising campaign, promotes the many benefits of sport and physical activity and is open to all, regardless of age, background or physical condition.

On September 26, 2024, Bulgarian sports development association organized a local conference within the "Carbon Neutral Sports Club Network – C ZERO SPORTS CLUB" project. The event brought together representatives of sports clubs and public figures interested in the environmental challenges facing the sports sector. The main highlight of the conference was the presentation of the "Carbon Footprint Measurement Programme for Sports Organisations", created within the project. On the 11th of September 2024, Joanna Dochevska, representative of Bulgarian sports development association (BSDA) took part in the annual SHARE 2.0 conference, which took place in Brussels, Belgium. The event brought together leading experts and organisations from different sectors to discuss the future of sport, innovation and sustainable development. The conference opened with a welcome address by Normunds Poppens, Deputy Director-General of the European Commission's Directorate-General for Education, Youth, Sport and Culture (DG EAC), and continued with a series of interactive sessions and small group discussions covering topics such as youth mental health, digitalisation in sport and environmental action in sports organisations.

On the 3rd of September 2024, at the "Vasil Levski" National sports academy, Bulgarian sports development association held a dissemination event under the Showdown and OR. with SNORKELING – Orienteering with Snorkeling, projects. The event aimed to introduce the initiatives to the sports professionals, trainers, coaches and sports educators. These initiatives are aimed at young people and children with physical or visual impairments and their partners, and their objective is to promote sport as an effective tool to improve their physical, mental and social well-being. Unfortunately, people with disabilities are often excluded from or refused participation in sporting activities due to various barriers such as lack of training and opportunities to compete, insufficient awareness of how to include people with disabilities and inaccessible facilities.

The initiative is aimed at young people with physical disabilities and their partners, and included a total of three Bulgarian pairs of athletes, as well as participants from Turkey and the Republic of North Macedonia.

On the 28th of August 2024, the “Vasil Levski” National Sports Academy women's team officially started its preparations for the 2024/25 season with the support of the SMS – Strong Mind for Success initiative. Head Coach Valentina Gospodinova, 17-time champion of Bulgaria and former national athlete, presented the #SMS – Strong Mind for Success handbook to the team. This resource aims to support the mental health of the young players and is going to be a key element in their preparation for upcoming matches, including the upcoming match against Ludogorets 1945 and their participation in the Women's Champions League. We wish success to the champions of “Vasil Levski” National Sports Academy!

Bulgarian sports development association (BSDA) took part in a work meeting on youth policy, organized by the Human Resource Development Centre (HRDC) in its role as National Agency for the European Programmes Erasmus+ and European Solidarity Corps. The meeting took place on the 21st of August 2024 in Sofia and was attended by Petar Mladenov – Deputy Minister at the Ministry of Youth and Sport, Nikolay Spasov, Executive Director of the HRDC, Dimka Radeva – Secretary General of the HRDC, Vesela Mareva – Director of the Youth Policies Directorate at the MYS and Atanas Radev – Chairperson of the National Youth Forum, as well as 50 youth organizations from across the country. Current challenges and issues in the youth sector were discussed.

In the period 5-11 August 2024 in the city of Sofia, the 11th European Showdown Championships is taking place, which is a long-awaited event for the sports community in Bulgaria. In 2020, our country was approved to host the European Showdown Championships, but due to the pandemic, the championships was not held. Four years later, thanks to the efforts of the "Sports for the Visually Impaired Federation ", the bid to host was again approved by both the "Ministry of Youth and Sports" and the International Blind Sports Federation (IBSA).

This event was part of the "Carbon Neutral Sports Clubs Network – C ZERO SPORT CLUBS" initiative. The project aims to encourage small European sports clubs to take concrete actions for climate protection by implementing eco-friendly management practices and using digital tools. Participants conducted eco-activities in order to highlight the importance of caring for nature, demonstrating that environmental protection should be a priority for all athletes, regardless of their age.

In the period 08-10 July 2024, an international partnership meeting under the European Week of Winter Sport project took place in Luxembourg. The meeting brought together sports organisations from eight countries to discuss the promotion of physical activity during winter and raising awareness on climate change and sustainability through winter sports. The main objective of the project is to make winter sports more accessible and inclusive while raising awareness on climate change through winter sports which is in line with the EU Work Plan for Sport's goal of promoting sustainability in sport events.

The international training course on SHOWDOWN was held in Thessaloniki, Greece, from July 2nd to 3rd, 2024, gathering sport experts from Bulgaria, Greece, Cyprus and Spain. On July 2nd, the training focused on inclusive SHOWDOWN, took place at the Center for Education & Rehabilitation for the Blind. The following day, July 3rd, the training continued with a session on first aid for people with disabilities, held at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. This event was part of an ongoing effort to promote inclusivity and safety in sports for individuals with disabilities.

From June 28 to July 1, 2024, an international training titled "An Autism and Behaviour Management training for P.E. school teachers" (acronym P.E.rfect) took place in Elche, Spain. The event brought together 5 coaches and physical education teachers per country from Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Ireland, Spain, Poland, and the Republic of North Macedonia. The main goal of the training was to discuss effective tools and strategies for including children with autism in the educational system, tailored to local conditions. Participants also reviewed and tested a specially developed e-learning platform created within the project.

In the period 24-27 June 2024, in Warsaw, Poland, a partner meeting under the “POP-UP – Sport for empowerment and for hoping-up your personal and professional pathway” project was held, which was attended by Joanna Dochevska and Diana Hadzhiangelova – representatives of Bulgarian sports development association. The initiative aims to enable the training and integration pathways for adult populations, especially women and people with disabilities, to develop and incorporate innovative training activities centered around physical activity and sports, with a focus on health and well-being, and a pedagogical perspective of empowerment and skills development relevant to employment. The activities developed support the accessibility and inclusion of these populations and will create opportunities at both a personal and professional level.
